Calabria, a region to discover.

History, food, wine, cheese and folklore.

Join me for this wonderful trip in the Greek and Roman empire remains. Calabria, the toe of Italys boot, is a picturesque region in southern Italy with mountains, beaches but the food of Calabria is what gets us really excited!

Calabrias produce and seafood are well enjoyed with its hearty, local red wine. Many dishes are a mix of fresh ingredients, preserved vegetables, and meats and fish with oil and spices.

This 10 days trip features:

–   Guided tours to the most historical and famous towns of Calabria

–   Excursions to producers of extra virgin olive oil, wine, salami and pecorino cheese with 1 workshop watching and testing fresh sheep ricotta.

–   Two hands-on cooking classes. One will be held in the forest sampling and learning how to cook mushrooms and other foraging.

–   All meals are including dinners at the best ‘agriturismo’ (a retreat farmhouse resort) and restaurants on the beach in Calabria in a convivial and family style.

Cooking Classes

We are going to hunt mushrooms for a learning day about Porcini, Tartufo calabrese and we will cook in the middle of the forest using products picked during the walk and tasting some wild boar.

Local Tastings

We will visit wineries and extra virgin olive oil press factory to learn about those wonderful and delicious elements of Calabria: vino and olio d’oliva.
